Engr. Siky A. Aliyu, C’Eng, FIChemE, FNSChE.
(Managing Director, National Engineering & Technical Company)
Engr. Siky Aliyu has been appointed the new Managing Director, National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO) effective April 1, 2016. He thus becomes the eleventh Managing Director of the NNPC Subsidiary saddled with the responsibility of providing engineering services to the Nation and the entire oil and gas industry.
Siky Aliyu has had over 32 years experience in the midstream and downstream sectors of Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria, U.K, Netherlands and USA, twelve of which have been spent in senior management role. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne (U.K.) where he graduated in June 1983. He joined NNPC in November 1983 as a Process Technologist in Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company where he worked until December 1989 when he was seconded to Nigeria LNG Ltd as a senior Process Engineer.
While in NLNG, he was involved in all aspects of the company’s Projects development and implementation from Scouting studies, to Basis of Design to Front End Engineering Design, Detail Engineering, Commissioning, Start-up and normal plant operation. He was the first Nigerian in NLNG to lead process engineering group as Lead Process Engineer and in 2004, he became the first Nigerian to be Commissioning Manager for NLNGPlus (Trains 4 and 5). In 2006, he was appointed Technical Services Manager, the first Nigerian to occupy the position. In that position, Siky led a team that championed many initiatives which saved over US100m dollars to the Company. Top amongst these initiatives are Flare Reduction Initiatives which successfully reduced operational flaring from 3% to 0.5% of feed gas intake and the Optimization of LNG trains and Gas Turbine Generators during gas supply shortage situation.
In February, 2010, he was deseconded back to NNPC as Manager in charge of the Gas Processing Facilities in Gas & Power Directorate. Later that year, he was deployed to Brass LNG as a Shareholder Subject Matter Expert in LNG to assist in evaluating the Technical & Commercial EPC bids received from Contractors bidding for the Brass LNG Project.
In 2011, Siky was promoted General Manager Brass LNG where he provided overall direction and management of operations of the Brass Facilities division supervising the Basis of Design, FEED and EPC Contract negotiations and contract conformance of mega billion$ Brass LNG Onshore Works, Offshore Works and Gas Train Engineering & Procurement Contracts. He also led the initiative for further optimization of the Project to reduce Capex. Siky was promoted Managing Director of NETCO in March, 2016.
Siky is a chartered engineer and a Fellow of both the Institution of Chemical Engineers (U.K) and Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. He is an alumnus of INSEAD Business School and member of Board of NETCO-Dietsmann. He was a member of Council and Board of Directors of Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers from 1991 -1996. Siky, authored a textbook The Chemical Engineering Problems – Vol. 1 Separation Processes in 1989.
Siky is happily married to Oluremi, a Consultant Internist, Occupational Physician and they are blessed with three girls (Lola, Zainab & Mariam) and two boys (Wale & Jubril).
He is a golfer and member of the prestigious Ikoyi Club. His hobbies include reading, meeting people, mentoring and coaching.

Yakubu joined the services of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation as
Senior Civil/Structural Engineer in 1992 and was deployed to National
Engineering& Technical Company (NETCO) Ltd, Lagos. Within the period 1992
to 2006, he had worked and held various positions
as Senior Civil/Structural Engineer, Lead Engineer, Field Engineering
Co-ordinator, and Project Manager.

Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed his appointment as the
Executive Director Operations effective August 11, 2015.
Yakubu has travelled far and wide across the globe to many countries like USA,
United Kingdom, Malaysia, and France in the pursuit of project activities and
has also attended several local and overseas Management courses.

Ayodele Ashafa started her public service career with the University of Jos, a
Federal parastatal of the Ministry of Education in July 1983. She is a graduate
of Psychology from the great University of Lagos in 1979 and also holds a
Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of California, Los
Angeles, United States of America in 1981.
joined the services of the Corporation on 2nd of January, 1992 as Deputy Chief
from the University of Jos where she had previously worked and risen to the
position of Senior Assistant Registrar. She was immediately seconded to
National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) where between 1992 –
1993 she was the O / C Purchasing. During this period she was responsible
for timely procurement of consumable office furniture, equipment, tendering
administration and adequate record keeping.
1993, she was made the Head Public Affairs Department of NAPIMS. Her duties
included ensuring positive image for NAPIMS. She also supervised the
organisation of social events and Media Relations for the company. She
coordinated the participation of NAPIMS in all local and International Trade
Fairs and also ensured the supervision of community relations activities and
development projects in operating areas of various NNPC / Joint Venture
Bolanle Ashafa made history in 1999, by being the first Public Affairs Head to
coordinate the participation of Nigeria at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC)
in 1999 in Houston, USA. The success of the participation opened the way for
subsequent participation of Nigeria in the Conference till date.
Ashafa functioned as Deputy Manager, Protocol and Media Relations between 2001
- 2003 and her task and responsibilities were supervision of production of
NAPIMS in- house news magazine – “NAPIMS News”. She pioneered as the first Head
of Public Affairs to establish NAPIMS News” in 1994. She also
ensured the healthy relationship between the Media and NAPIMS.
2003 - 2004, Mrs Ashafa functioned as Deputy Manager PSC. She was responsible
for supervising community relations in Production Sharing Contracts (PSC),
review of budget proposals, develop mutually beneficial community relations
programs for PSC and also attend sub – committee meetings and technical
committee meetings of all PSC Companies.
Bolanle Ashafa was redeployed to National Engineering and Technical Company
(NETCO) in 2004 as Deputy Manager, Public Affairs Department. She coordinated
the activities of the Department through effective monitoring and supervision
of the Media & Publicity and Consular & Management Services units of
2006, she was again redeployed to NAPIMS as Deputy Manager Community Relations.
She supervised the community relations programme of SPDC and SNEPCO. She also
supervised and recommended work programme and budget proposals in Public
Affairs related activities. Her other duties included the update of data base
of CSR of JV companies and attendance of sub - committee and technical
committee meetings (TECOM).
Ashafa was confirmed as the substantive Manager Public Affairs Department,
NAPIMS in 2007. She developed, planned, defended, implemented and monitored the
Department’s annual budget. She developed the strategy for public enlightenment
on NAPIMS activities, developed and implemented the strategy for cordial
relations between NAPIMS and Leadership of National Assembly. She also
developed and implemented the template for instituting effective and
sustainable corporate social responsibility program for JV’s and PSC companies,
maintained database for all industry CSR activities including community unrests.
She coordinated the publishing of NAPIMS in – house magazine and ensured media
friendly environment for NAPIMS, provided protocol services for NAPIMS
Management, facilitated procurement of visa, air travels tickets for entitled
staff and ensured NAPIMS participation in at least Local and International
Trade Fairs and Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).
2010, Mrs Bolanle Ashafa was transferred to Corporate Headquarters, Abuja as
Manager Intergovernmental Relations, Group Public Affairs Department. Her duties
included but not limited to establishing sustainable working relationship with
intergovernmental agencies including Legislative, Executive and other
Government Agencies, managing NNPC relationship with National Assembly and
other arms of Government. She also proactively ensured that all Government
Agencies are adequately informed about NNPC activities and provided learning
opportunities through organised seminars and workshops.
Bolanle Ayodele Ashafa was again in January 2013 redeployed to NETCO as Manager
Public Affairs Department. She was made the acting Executive Director Services
in September 2013.

Bolanle Ayodele Ashafa is happily married to her caring husband Engr. Oladipo

reading, meeting people, travelling and trekking at her spare time.
